OBITUARY

OBITUARY

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a Band Aid to a student , but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust;his wife, Discretion; his daughter, responsibility; and his son,Reason.He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

The touch of the Masters hand

There is a story about an auctioneer , trying to auction off an old violin, not very pretty,scuffed up and a string was loose. The auctioneer asked for $1 and someone said ok, then he asked for $2 and no one answered. Then an old man came from the back and picked up the violin and after fixing the loose string and tuning it a bit, picked up the bow and played out a melody pure and sweet,sweeter than the angels sing. Then the auctineer said who will give me $1000 and someone called out I will! Who give me $2000 and others said we will. The people asked what made the difference? The auctioneer said "It was the touch of the Masters hand".

4 Steps

I found 4 steps that I trully believe and I am following these steps everyday in my own pursuit of happiness.

They are:
1. FORGIVE
2. BELIEVE
3. DO
4. BE

1. FORGIVE
I trully believe that people won't achieve wealth, inspiration, success and happiness if they don't see themselves worthy of those things. Many people don't see that the problems in their life for not achieving what they want is not on other people's hand but it is on their hands. They don't realise that they have a problem with themselves.

Many people haven't forgiven themselves and accepted themselves as they are. How many times we judge ourselves when things go wrong? How many times we punish ourselves when things don't happen the way we want them to? There is an old saying, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." We have to understand that we have to first trully love ourselves first by accepting ourselves as we are before we can trully love others. It doesn't mean that we accept our weaknesses but have the passion in our lives that we will strive to give the best of our lives. Anyway we live only once, why don't we give it the best shot that we got?

2. BELIEVE
After forgiving ourselves, then we need to start believing. Believe that God wants us to live an abundance life.

We have to know, whether we believe it or not, that whatever we passionately think about or focus on all the time, it is not necessarily positive things, will be attracted in our lives. And this is where the problem lies, most of the times we focus on the things that we don't want to have or do and therefore instead of getting what we want to have or do, we get what we don't want. There is an old saying, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do."

The good news is that we can change our focus by just merely shifting our thoughts. It does not mean that we have to control our minds. Wow, that would be an impossible things to do but to just merely change our thoughts when we realise that we are focusing on what we don't want instead of what we want. One of the best ways to do it, is by having a vision board or dream board. This is where we keep reminding ourselves to focus on things that we want to have or do. By doing this exercise, you will find yourselves focusing on the things that you want to have or do. I trully believes in the natural law of living, which is the golden rule of all, "What a man thinks about himself, so is he." All this is saying to us that our thoughts are very powerful, more than just a thought.

I can't stress enough about this, if you can get through whatever your beliefs are right now to see or at least accept that your lives have been affected by this law whether you realise it or not, whether you believe it or not.

Final note about BELIEVE, while we are living in this world, why don't we trully believe all the good things that we want to have or do can be ours.

3. DO
After believing, we need to act by doing everything towards your beliefs. Do something about it and start seeing changes happening in your life. I believe that faith without action is nothing. So, we need to act in faith. Take that leap of faith and start walking towards your dreams.

So many people only dream about things they want but never find ways on how to achieve it and make a plan and do the plan. As it is so true that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail. You are guaranteed that you will never achieve your dreams if you never plan your way to your dreams. One more important ingredient in DO is persistence.

If you plan once and the plan fails and then you stop because of it, then you are once again planing to fail. Doing what you believe means keep on doing what you believe. It means never to stop doing it. That's it. If you fall, get up, do it again, fall, get up, do it again, until you succeed.

Life is never easy but life is never hard on us. It will never be more than what we can bear. It is a promise you can keep as long as you don't quit. So, keep Doing what you believe.

4. BE
This is the final step. There will be one point in your life where suddenly life just opens up for you and everything falls into its' places where it belong and life starts to manifest all of the things you have dreamed about. At this stage, this is the harvesting time.

One note to remind you of when you achieve this step, do not stop here. Go back to step one and expand your life more and more. That is what I trully believe in my life.

Many stories I heard, either from a friend of mine or from a book that I read or even from my own experiences, follows these 4 steps. Our lives are in stages and every stage of our lives comprises of these 4 steps whether we believe it or not.


Something else should also be added to the steps above to get what you want in life practice an attitude of gratitude. Be grateful for everything you recieve big or small. Give thanks for everything you recieve. Give thanks for getting up in the morning, for being able to afford food. Give thanks for the air you can breathe. In other words be thankful or grateful for everything big or small. If you practice an attitude of gratitude for everything you will recieve the things you are wanting to have. Practice gratitude for the things you are working toward, the things that are on the way for you, as if they are already yours now.

Things to Remember

I find what I look for in people. If I look for God, I find God.
If I look for bad qualities, I find them. I, in a sense, select
what I expect, and I receive it. A life without challenges would
be like going to school without lessons to learn. Challenges come
not to depress or get me down, but to master and to grow and to
unfold thereby.

In the Father's wise and loving plan for me, no burden can fall
upon me, no emergency can arise, no grief can overtake me, before
I am given the grace and strength to meet them.

A rich, full life is not determined by outer circumstances and
relationships. These can be contributory to it, but cannot be the
source. I am happy or unhappy because of what I think and feel.

I can never lose anything that belongs to me, nor can I posses
what is not really mine.

To never run from a problem: either it will chase me or I will
run into another just like it, although it may have a different
face or name.

To have no concern for tomorrow. Today is the yesterday over
which I had concern.

To never bang on a closed door: Wait for it to open and then go
through it.

A person who has come into my life has come either to teach me
something, or to learn something from me.

The carpenter

The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had
just finished a rough day on the job. A flat tire made him lose
an hour of work. His electric saw quit, and now his ancient
pickup truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in
stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family.

As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a tall
tree, touching tips of the branches with both hands. When opening
the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face
was wreathed with smiles and he hugged his two small children and
gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my
curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen
him do earlier. "Oh, that's my trouble tree" he replied. "I know
that I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for
sure. Troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and
children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I
get home. Then in the morning I pick them up again. "Funny thing
is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up,
there ain't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night
before."

Positive Thoughts

Here is something that I found the other day that is so true "When you believe it, you`ll see it! You create what you focus on." Think and speak only what you want. Don`t focus on what you don`t want. Most people have it backwards They say they will believe it after they see it!


There is peace within my walls and prosperity within my house.

I am guided to my true work and my true place, with the true people and true prosperity, quickly and in peace.

I always know the right path to take; the right decision to make; the right pursuit to follow; and the right people to trust.

My innovative thinking is making me rich. I am inspired to make money and my money blesses me and everyone else.

As I give I recieve a mutiplied return.

I wake up each morning fully awake, with a limitless supply of energy and enthusiasm to live each day joyfully and in peace.

I choose to free myself from all destructive fear and doubt. I release that which I do not need and recieve what is mine. I release people and relationships that no longer serve me and experience the perfect relationships now.

Iam the picture of perfect health, my body operates at optimum performance and remains in optimum health.

I intend to feel good this week.

I intend to find a creative way to add more income to my life.

I intend to achieve one of my goals this week.

When you change the way you look at things. the things you look at change!

I now forgive and release everything and everyone of the past or present who needs forgiveness and release. I loose them and let them go. They are free and I am free, too. All things are cleared up between us now and forever.


I pronounce this good, regardless. Wherever I am, good things always happen.


Inner peace translates into outer peace affecting every aspect of my
life.


This second is not like the last. I use this moment to bless others.

I am thankful for everything I am receiving today, for every moment is
a gift of my Creator.
